gilly, thanks for the links. im not concerned with the looks of the backrest since it will only be on while the little woman is on back, thats why i wanded a quick detach system. this looks similar to a paladin backrest that i had on my old vtx that i liked very much.
Yeah I know what you mean. On mine I just don't want the docking hardware showing when the backrest is off.
I'm thinking the Corbin because I have a Corbin backrest off my BMW that would work on the Fat Bob Corbin seat, so I can spend $500 and have a really nice seat, plus the backrest is a "freebie".

Oh, there are a few options you can add to that Harley backrest like the rack that Phil has on his. A little limited right now on Fat Bob stuff though, only that one riser that I'm aware of, but yeah you have the option on quick release or fixed (bolted on) plates.
Gilly
Hi, sorry did not see your replay till today, but looks as if Gilly has answered the question for me.
I got my back rest etc as part of the FXDF Rider's Essentials Kit, and one thing for sure you know HD stuff is going to fit and the quailty is excellent as well. I never had the detachable backrest on my Super Glide, wish I had.
Anyway, I'm sure whatever you pick you'll be happy with the results.
