Removing Tank Emblems -- Search feature not working
I know this has been discussed 1000 times but I can't find it anywhere....
I have a friend that wants to remove the tank emblems off his Street Bob and I remembered reading something here about an easy way to do it....fish line and goo-gone? Any help or link would be appreciated....
RE: Removing Tank Emblems -- Search feature not working
I put painters tape on the paint around the emblems and used fishing line to "cut" the foam/adhesive. Some use heat but I didnt want to take the risk of pushing the emblem into the paint...might not be the easiest but was the safestIMHO. Once the emblem is gone I just "rolled" the adhesive off with my finger. Hope it helps.

I used a blow dryer , got the surface and emblem "warm" , then simply pulled the emblem away from the surface, used goo gone to remove the residue, cant even tell it was ever there, good luck!

I did the same exact thing stated here with my reflectors, only instead of "pulling" them away I used dental floss to separate them from the tank. Just do it nice & easy & SLOW! The dental floss removes them like cutting through butter! Just got to make sure their somewhat warm though. Good luck!

If ya spray/dribble a little Goo Gone down into the mounting interface and let it sit a bit it helps get it all off at once or almost! LOL! If you use the fishing line, think about some gloves to keep it from digging into your hands. Especially helpful on reflectors, not such a big deal on the emblems.

Just did mine yesterday. Tried the dental floss, didn't work out so well for me. I ended up putting painters tape around them, heating them up and just pulling them off. Completely destroyed the emblems but they were crap to begin with.
