Default screw or bolt for battery cover

Got a 07 Low Rider. Took off the battery cover to expose to + and - poles to hook up my battery tender. Haven't ridden her for about 2 weeks (been on my shovel). I somehow (???) misplaced the bolt or screw that holds the bottom of the cover to the frame. Called my local stealership, he said that it's a screw and the parts book doesn't give the size and they have them in stock for $2. Is that true that it's a screw? Anyone know the size of it? I tried various bolts and can't get them to seat in there just right. I don't want to strip the threads.
I guess that the bike is getting back at me for not riding her that much !!

1/4 - 20about 1/2 in. long ,phillips head , threads are tight because of the loctite .

Is it a good idea to use loctite on all bolts?

+1 on that one! The red is a ***** fu#&a to get off, almost to the point that you break bolts at times.

I switched mine out to an allen head instead of a phillips. Lots easier to get off and do not have to worry about stripping the head when using loctite
