Hit a Pigeon, saved by my apes!
So I was cruisin yesterday at about 40mph and as I was glancing off to the right at traffic I felt a huge gutshot, looked down and there was a bloody pigeon on my stomach! I knocked him off, pulled over and did a damage assessment.... Just some blood and guts on my tank, seat, and vest :-) Lucky. The little sucker hit the left upright of my apes before hitting me in the stomach - it could have been a lot worse if it hadn't hit the bars first!!!

Actually I had a backpack with some parts in it with a towel, so I just cleaned off the blood and went on my way to the dealer to get some more stuff. It does make you think about the random **** out there that can take you out quickly.... Lost a good pair of Levis.

Glad to see that you didn't go down from the impact. There are two highway overpasses around here that are notorious for sucidal pigeons, I always take it easy and keep an eye peeled when I go through there for just this reason.

i hit a crow with my Mustang a few months back. that bird was bigger than my chest, i couldnt stop thinking what would have happened if i was on the scoot

I got hit by a bird on my right shoulder one time at about 60mph, almost caused me to go off the road. I pulled over to check things out and I think the beak actually broke the skin on my shoulder.
