Newbe Question

I just picked up an 07 SG 1200 miles on it It has the (i think ) the new type SE exhaust and it's not loud at all. I went out tonight and picked up the the Cycle Shack turn outs i think they call them drag pipes
My question is will these pipes damage the engine.. The bike had a stage one done at the time of sale to the original buyer

You should ask the dealer you bought it from if they installed the HD stage 1 ECM software download with the stage 1 parts. If they don't know then take the bike in and have them check it with their digital technician. (takes about 3 minutes). This software will prevent the engine from running too lean (and hot) from the increased airflow it will get from the stage 1 parts. The cycle shack pipes will not hurt your engine if you at least have the stage 1 download flashed in the ECM. Note: If the bike still runs hot or you get some exhaust popping on deceleration with the new pipes you may want to get a better fuel management device like the SERT, or Thundermax, or PCIII or IED's.
