Need advice on chaps
Also they are fairly easy to alter (for a leather worker). I usually take material out of,or add to. the inside seam. Cut the length while sitting down. I hate riders that are all clean lookin. he he
no - seriously - rahall , do you live in the south? not need the cold weather protection? chaps are not intended to give you the look of a "lifestyle" preference. I am just trying to figure out if you all arekidding or are too homo phobe to wear these. I do, and don't give a shi! what anyone one thinks. I wear them, so does mywife. They do look better on her though.......
Ifanyone thinks chaps are for ....whatever - your a dic!

#1 rule with buying chaps you got to try them on. here is why
I was looking for chaps figured hell i wear a size 38 pants chaps should be close hell no. I try XL no fit, i try XXL no fit.
By the time i found a set of chaps that fit i am wearing XXXXL why my thigh is so big that is the only ones that would fit me the waist still fits but i am on the 2nd to last belt hole but they fit great had to cut about 6 inchs off the bottom.
Like stated before the Thigh is where you will be way to baggy or way to tight. Had i ordered on line i would have been screwed.

Have you ever worn them into your workplace after riding to work?
Haven't had a job!
Have you ever worn them meeting someone new on a date?
Haven't had a date! LOL (Not with someone new anyway)
Have you ever worn them into a store (motorcycle stores don't count!) or the supermarket?
Oh sure!
Have you ever worn them into a non-biker restaurant or bar?
Yep!
How little have you ever worn under a pair of chaps?
In public or private? <smile>

I want to buy a pair of chaps:
1.) Do you suggest a size bigger. Pants size 36" so chaps 38" ?
2.) I am seeing some pairs with zippers on back of thighs...will those zippers mar my seat...I mean the bike seat...my seat is already mared ?
3.) Where do you suggest to buy them ?

It was more a tongue in cheek observation on the difference in the UK between HOG members and guys that ride all year round over here. Go to a harley dealershaip and all the HOGies are there in chaps fringed leathers and so on with bikes that only see the sun and know the way to the chapter night and dealership on their own but nowhere else. Whislt all the other riders wear full leather jeans or the newer kevlar jeans. 27 years of riding all year round has taught me when you hit the road its aloways the bit withthe leadt protection that hits first. Bit like toast and always falling butter side down.
