Default bad brake light switch?

So here's the scoop. I discovered today that my brake light is always bright, as if I was pulling my brakes when I'm not. Does this sound like a bad brake light switch to you? Bike is a 06 street bob, 7500 miles.

Edit. I would like to add that I have the smoked led low profile from Harley installed, if that makes a difference

have you had it apart lately? if the brake part isnt snug to the switch housing this can happen. same thing happened to me. loosen the brake part up and snug them together and tighten back up. hope this solves it

I just went through this problem on mine. I ended up holding the front brake lever in while installing master cylinder back onto handlebars. Hope this helps.

I had them apart a few months back, and I loosened them just a week or so ago just to readjust the angle. By loosening the brake part and snugging them back up, I assume you mean the 2 separate pieces to the control housing?

It ended up being the tail light itself... I disassembled the whole control housing and hooked a voltmeter up to the front brake switch, it was good. Same with the rear. I finally realised it might be a good idea to check the tail light, pulled it off and one of the wires had fallen off the circuit board. A buddy is going to solder it up for me and problem solved. I'm just angry that stupid me didn't even bother to check the tail light first, I would have saved so much time!

Oh well, at least you found the problem and don't have worry about it anymore.

That's pretty good work finding an problem and fixing it yourself. Most stealers would have replaced the hand controls first.
