Something else to mention, I'm 6'1" and about 205, and my wife is small and about 130, and with the right shock setting even with the bags full the ride is very comfy and no bottoming. All with the stock shocks. Smoother than I expected.
Also, I have owned scoots with forward and mid controls, and I find that shifting and braking with my heel is a much easier movement than pulling from the hip to shift (and you do ... you don't just lift your toes) and pulling from the hip to raise my foot to the brake pedal to press downward. So this time I left the mid controls on, which also helps on long hauls by giving me another foot position to use to prevent fatigue or cramps.
