ok i doing my new bar install and i bought a wire extension kit but i cant figure ou how to get those deutsch connectors apart.
what tool do i need for this where do i put the tool?
i looked on a ape install thread but it didnt have a pic of where to put the tool so i was able to pull the wire out.
pic would be nice
i was in the garage for like 2 hours and still im in the same spot i was trygin everything but got no luck
please help me out
thanks
kind of hard to describe but i'll give it a shot. if you look at the end of the connecter you will see a orange and/or a gray colored plate. pry this plate off with a small pocket screwdriver and then underneath that you will see all the actual connecters. if you look closeley you will see a little lock tab holding each individual pin in place. you need to take the same small pocket screwdriver and while pulling slightley on the individual wire you need to lift up the lock tab on that wire andthe pinshould just slide out. make sure you make a diagram of where each individual pin goes. hope this helps you out.
I justtake one of the tools you use to clean the nozzle on spray guns to get connectors apart. The first time you may have to work with it until you find the spot that makes it release. After a doing few, you will get a feel for it and be able to pop em apart easily.
