Maybe part your fault, maybe part their fault, certainly trying to get something done in the Spring is a bad choice.

Take the lesson -- when you make a service appointment get them to commit to start work the day you drop it off. Get a commitment for when the work will be complete. Frankly, for handlebars I'd expect to drop it off after work one evening and pick it up after work the following evening. It being Spring, though, I wouldn't expect a shop to agree to that. I'd just make a note to change them out in the Fall.

Call them. You're a customer. Your business is the reason they exist. They won't spit in your soup. Tell them that you're thinking of picking up the bike if they haven't got it done...diplomatically and matter-of-fact. If they're smart, they'll get on it. If not, then you're better off taking it somewhere else.

Get it outta there.

If they give a date, they should follow it.

Days in biking season is like weeks.

Maybe it's just me but if I have an appointment and the job is estimated at less than 8 hours I expect it back that day. WTH use is an appointment if they aren't getting on it as soon as it gets there? **** on them, pull it out and take it to someone that respects you.

Long story short, I can pick up the bike Saturday... job completed. I looked at my appointment card and it did say "for the week of 5/5. drop off on 5/3."

But I do have to respond to some of the above posts.

wow man... i do handlebar swaps for my buddies all the time, internal wire and all for about 100 bucks... wow! with you lived closer brother i would have helped walk your though it... LTH
I know you would! LTH

Days in biking season is like weeks.
Only those who love to ride would understand that.

Maybe part your fault, maybe part their fault, certainly trying to get something done in the Spring is a bad choice.
I kind of knew that going in... honest truth is I never wanted to do anything to my bike until I found this damn board!

That's one of the tallest windshields I've ever seen, reaches the top of the house.
That was my mod to resolve the turbulence issue... Once I tested it out, I was going to share it with you guys.

And by the way, I asked and yes, it is on a lift!

Flanders Beach Bars Link to bars. I was inspired by Netvampire's setup... Once I get the bike back I will post some pics. I'm digging the way she's coming along.
