[:@]Got a question about the starter relays, I go through 3 relays per summer is that the norm or a bit much. I have checked all the connections and have a new battery and even cleaned the pins on the relay itself. I press the starter button it does nothing, if I have the patients you can keep pressing the button and hopefully I don’t release before if fires or I just change out the relay and it fires up.
The relay might not be getting a full 12 volt shot from the start switch, or the ground is weak. Both of these will burn the contacts. Then when you install a new relay the contacts are fresh and will work till they become burnt over time. [&:]
I agree, that’s why I was wondering if anyone else had that issue, the dealer in Alaska said they always go out when I went in there to by a replacement. So now I carry 2 extra.
I’m guessing you are referring to it as the fuse, its located on the right side under the seat with the fuses 1x1x1/2 inch, and 5 prongs. They are only about $6 but it just a beginning to be a pain.
Yes I ment to say starter relay..not fuse but thats what it looks like to me. I have had mine go out not to long ago. It has only happened one time but I did get a spare so if it happened again I'm covered. Never did find out why my blew. Have you asked the dealer service what causes it?

+1
Something is makeing the contacts in the relay burn up... Not sure what, maybe too much current draw from the starter, so check thator like HD7585 said, bad ground somewhere along the path. Regardless of what your dealer says it's not normal for relays to go bad that fast.
