Default Street Bob 06 or 07 ?

I found a nice looking, low mileage, 06 Street Bob and Im wondering if the larger 07 motor is a major enough improvement that I should be patient and focus on buying a used 07 Street Bob? I realize that almost all other aspects of the two bikes are the same - just needing some recommendations on whether or not its best to look for an 07? Im afraid that I will always wonder what the 1600 feels like... then again, this is my first bike so I dont know what Im talking about and the 06 will probably be more than enough

1,600 miles, forward controls, stage 1 mapped with receipts, 2 up seat and stock seat. The only bad thing I know of is that the rims are rusting a bit. I read that this is typical for spokes wheels?

I can't say anything directly about the '06 or TC88, as my '07 with the 96" is my first BigTwin (had a Sportster and Buell in the past). However, I don't think the 96" has that much of a power increase over the 88" to break a good deal. One advantage I've seen with the 88's is that there seem to be many more performance/big bore kits and options available at the moment for the 88 (which makes sense, since its been around longer). That's not to say there aren't any available for the 96" - GMR, Zippers, and I'm sure a few other big names have some kits. However, I haven't seen as many options for the 96 as I've seen for the 88...yet.

That all being said, I'm VERY happy with my '07, so of course I'm biased in that direction.

What kind of deal on the '06? I'm sure some will say there's a big difference between the two motors, so I guess it all depends on your riding style. I love my '06, and could care less if I had more power. Works for me, and PLENTY of power for 2-up riding.

Not sure if its appropriate to publish prices - but - since you asked He's asking $10,900. What makes this a pretty good price is that this is in Nor Cal and bikes cost more here than the rest of the US.... Im cerain he will take a bit less but I dont want to negotiate and waste everyones time unless Im 100% certain I want this bike and willing to backup my offer with cash. A friend of mine goes around making offers then decides later if he wants to make the purchase - personally, I think thats bs... One more thing, the warranty unfortunately ends in two weeks.

NADA avg retail price for a 2006 street bob is only $9,550. I think the 88 TC is almost the same to the 96 TC. However the 96 has really put price presure on the 2006 models.

No one usually uses NADA for bikes, instead they use KBB. I guess it all depends on what you find. I just saw an '07 go for $15K at my dealer. Blew my mind.

$10,900, in your market, sounds like a hell of a deal. Like I said earlier, you'll probably never notice the difference in the 2 motors.

How realistic is NADA? I have been looking across the US via Craigslist and only 2 bikes were under $10,000. One 06 is a good deal with decent options, no stage 1 or forward controls though, but by time I ship it to Cal its not such a great deal...

Sounds like a fair price, a used'07 will cost at least 4K+ more, it has the same tranny as the '07's, 'o6 Dyna was the testing ground for some of the '07 changes.

Yeah - just to give you an idea of this market - a new 08 bob is $15,500 + taxes and dmv = almost $18,000. And of course, then add forward controls, stage 1, 2 up seat...

I've riddin both and own an '07. The 96" is much better, in my opinion. Also, the '06 had some expensive repair issues. Is it still on warranty? Where the injectors upgraded?
