I had the same problem...&nbsp\\; buffeting was baaaad...&nbsp\\;

it got better when i changed the seat to the sundowner...&nbsp\\; I also got a MOMO helmet which for some reason eliminated the vibrations...&nbsp\\;

other members have said that a fork bag helps but i haven't tried it yet. gona give it a try soon tho, maybe next week. i'll keep ya posted
Careful with the fork bag! Wife put one on her Street Bob and now has a dent in the front fender from it! Nothing extreme, just normal riding. Can't even figure how the forks travelled that far cause the bag is mounted fairly high......oh well. She has the quick detach as well and loves it. She rides it higher on the forks, like as high as it will go.....I don't ride her bike much, but I prefer the shield down to the bottom of the forks.....experiment with it, find what works for you.

Sarge sounds like we have the same shield. The pressure is off the chest as you said, \\\\\\; I will be looking at both items noted above as I just feel with the $500.00 purchase I should not have to wear ear plugs for wind... only loud pipes (which I still have to buy).
\\\\\\;
DB
db - when there is no outside wind, my shield works pretty well and the wind noise isn't bad at all. I can hear the bike just fine and the ride is really enjoyable. When the wind kicks up to 10 mph or higher though, I get the goggle vibration thing going on and I have to slow down, plus the wind noise is bad. Earplugs help, but I forget to wear them sometimes. Funny, but when I had the V&H Big Radius pipes on my bike, even when I was really laying on the throttle, like up a long, steep hill, if it was really windy, I couldn't even hear the bike. Now that's some wind noise...

I would love to try another windshield like the Rifle Solo someone mentioned before, or a Windvest. Not sure how they would differ in feel because they are handlebar mounted, but the HD QD is triple-tree mounted, so it may feel the same. Both of those are quite a bit narrower than the HD shield so that also might help with my high-speed swaying problem. Don't have the $$ to be trying out $300 windshields though...

when your riding of course you will still get wind in the face,but try raising your head at speed and then tell me the sheild is doing nothing!,also remove it and go for a ride on the highway,just to remind yourself what it's like without the W/S! Ialso have the compact W/S when sitting comfy it goes to nose level on me and i'm 5'10. If I crane my neck up at 70 mph the wind gets really crazy above the sheild. but as long as I'm sitting normal it's all good.

I was surprised at what a difference a 1/2 inch makes on your windshield. Try lowering it a little or raising it.&nbsp\\; I had the same trouble, but found the lower I put it the less head slap I received.&nbsp\\; I tried riding without it and for those of you that can stand that wind in your face at 70+, I have a whole new respect for you.

I said this before.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; When I put my shield on I wasn't impressed.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Left it on the bike for a few months then I took it off and rode on the freeway.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Like night and day.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; The buffeting I got use to it and the only time it is really bad is when i am in the turbulence of a truck.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I guess what I am trying to say&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; it is somthing I got use to and now I wonder what the big deal was?
