StreetBob How on earth did you ride that thing before you got forwards on??? You could allmost put pegs on your front axle...What a reach..
I know you more comfortable now...Nice Ride Man..
Not to change the subject there RonnR, but where did you get your "touring" bag with the backrest? I had the forwards installed yesterday with my new V&H Big Shots, I bought the heel rests for the front and they really feel like boards, I bought the same boards you have for the rear when my wife rides. I love it, very comfortable...
I like the look you got, looks like your ready for the long haul.
I got the heel rests for my wide glide and I love them. They really are like having floorboards...in a forward position. I highly recommend them
Since we're thread drifting towards heel rest, let me add this....
They are a MUST!
I've got a set of Kuryahkn ISO pegs with the heel rests, and I would never go back.
That's all I needed to hear. I find the fwd controls on my '06 FXDI to be just a tad too forward for my liking and it always feels like my feet are going to slip off the pegs. I've been looking at those ISO pegs with the heel rest but wasn't sure if they'd work or not. Guess I'll have to get a set now.
I got the controls installed today. All went well. Thanks for all the help. As it turned out I didn't need the cap I made, with the way I rigged the old shift lever it ended up flush with the the outside of the primary cover. As I stated before, I cut the stock foot pegs in half and mounted them in the mid. position. The project only took a couple of hours, I saved a couple hundred bucks, and I got to play with my bike. Thanks to RonnR[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
I still haven't taken pics., maybe tomorrow depending on the weather.
I went the 5 inch pegs no slipping feet off the ends
