Many more posts regarding TMax tells me one thing.... there are getting to be MANY out there!
Forum posters usually only post when they have a problem.
Viewing an internet forum to determine product success or failure rate.....
Is like standing at the Rapid City Harley Davidson (during bike week) and seeing the dozens if not 100's of Harley's in line to be repaired because they are broken.
It would make you think Harley's are all CRAP (oopps maybe they are....).
The other thing is "The first thing blamed is the ECU". Always has been the case since COMPUTERS started to run our vehicles!
Many times it's some other problem.
Internet info is very helpful but can.......
sure SKEWWWWWWWW the VIEWWWWWWWWWW!
I've had mine for almost 2 years and not one fault I can find with it. I rebuilt the engine last winter, remapped and it was as good as new! I also got mine from Bart. Called em one day, had it in my hands the next day from Arkansas to Virginia. Some of the BEST engine mod money I have spent.
I have a T-Max on my 07 ultra, with Big Sucker Air Filter, Screaming Eagle 103 kit, Red shift 577 cams. I have to remember to keep the front wheel on the ground. I love it. My only problem now is that I have to Sell my PCIII. (edge2edge@comcast.net) You won't reget going with the T-Max!!!!
I've never really seen these major complaints that people reference from time to time...it's probably what I'm gonna go with in the near future...shooter, I may be in touch with you real soon.
I bought mine from shooter64 and it was some of the best money I've spent. Had no real issues with the perfromance. Mileage was not what I wanted, but played with it to finally get about 39 all around city driving (in Seattle) and about 43-44 on the long cruises. I would put one on any bike I own. Just remember that complainers post more than the content customer.
Happy with mine...she'll do 180mph in the quarter, gets 67mpg, and washes the bugs off herself when we get home!
Seriously though, a really good product. I think most of the problems are from people getting the wrong maps, if they leave any detail out when describing their bike it can make a big difference in which base map would be best. Anytime I load a new map I always ride a couple of times and then check the fuel adjustments page to see if the module is trying to make big changes (which would indicate a poor choice of base map) or just slight changes in the 5%-15% range (which is normal).
