Todd,
I got the profile chrome wheels as standard when i got my bike in late september .
I thought the others were uptil-05 wheels , might be worth a moan no lips
Thanks for the pics man. I was actually at the dealer the other day and they had a new Wide glide with that dragon something paint. It looked really cool. After looking at it for a couple minutes, I saw that the wheels were different. It's then that I realized that those were the wheels you guys were talking about. I have to say...they look really cool, and I wish I had them....I certainly would've spent the extra couple hundred bucks for them when I was purchasing the bike. Oh well. That said...there's not that much of a difference that I would go out and pay full price for an upgrade...I still am happy with mine. But, like many have mentioned, I hate the fact that laced wheels use tubes. I, too, wish I could carry a can of fix a flat for emergencies. For now, I'm carrying some 'slime' for tube type tires. I've never used it, and am skeptical as to it's effectivness. Anyone have experience with this slime stuff?
Was it the Dragonfly Green? I'm no huge fan of green but the Dragonfly is awesome! I was looking at a Denim Bob when I first saw it in person on a Deuce. I almost bought the wrong bike!
I definitely would've considered the chrome profile wheels if I was not planning on wide whitewalls. Nobody makes one for 17" wheels yet. $275 is not bad at all for such a nice upgrade.
yes..that was it..dragonfly green. It looked really nice. I've never been a big fan of green either, but in this case, I would have definitely considered it if it was available when I was buying.
While we are on the subject of spokes, I love my smooth profile spoked wheels, but boy do I hate to clean them. Especially the back wheel. Just wondering what tecniques you guys use to clean your spokes.
Guys,
Does anyone know if chrome spoke wheels are worth it? I hear they are hell to clean

I use the "Meguiar's Gold Class Ultra-Safe Wheel Spoke Brush" to clean my spoked rims:
This thing fits in any nook or cranny... in between all the spokes and is especially great for cleaning the back rim because you can fit it into all those hard to reach places at different angles. If you can see a small path in to a spot that needs cleaning, this thing will fit through and scrub.
I even clean the hard to reach areas in and around the engine/tranny. The brissles are somewhat softer so they can compress while the more rigid inside wire keeps it straight as you slide it in to tight places like between spokes.
If you wash a couple times a month and use this brush to scrub the rims... you really shouldn't have to do much if any polishing unless you want to do a full blown detail job... but I bought this thing to ride... not buff.
To each their own opinion.....it is all a matter of what you like.
As for me, I had a 2003 1200 Sporty with the factory mag wheels. I went to trade it on my "05 Dyna and the salesman asked me if I wanted to change anything. I told him to take off the laced wheels and put on mags (a $450.00 savings). My wife spoke up and asked what we were talking about and I showed her the two wheels on bikes on the showroom floor. She said "Oh, keep the laced wheels, they are much prettier" so I did. It is now 2 years later and those "prettier" wheels are starting to rust and nothingin Texas will stop it. And my wife has yet to sit her pretty *** down and help me clean them.
I'm switching to mag wheels as soon as I need tires.
Moral: never take the wife with you when bike shopping.

Been lookin at a company outside Ft Worth that sell forged wheels at a discounted rate. Was lookin at RC componets forged wheels. A 18x5.5 on back with a 180/55 18 metz tire and a 21x21.5 and metz tire on front.
I bought mine used with 80 spoke front and back. It was a big part of what attracted me to the bike, love the look. They are a little more difficult to clean, but not enough to make me think they aren't worth it. They are pretty well chromed - no rust anywhere.
