I have an 08 Street Bob and was thinking about getting the 14 inch Nash Gimp hangers or the 12 inch Midget Gimps. I was leaning towards the 12 inch Midgets only because I'm 5'7" and may be more comfortable with them. However, the Gimp hangers have a 10.5" base and the Midget Gimps have a 9.5" base. Are the bars with a more narrow base going to look out of place on my bike? Does that extra inch make a big difference?
I personally like having my bars even with the triple trees at the base. what I don't like is the bars being wider than the trees, it just doesn't do it for me. Check out as many pictures as you can before you buy though, there is plenty of Dyna guys running Nash bars. Nothing worse than forking up the cash and being dissatisfied (I've been there many a time).
I'm the same way, 'Noride'. Right now, I'm running a pair of 10" (rise)Wild One Chubbs on my 07 Wide glide... and although Wild One claims they have a 10 inch center width (and they may very well be, according to where Wild One measures them) ...but looking straight on, they are at least an inch and a half wider on each side beyond the triple trees...it's irritating the hell out of me....i'm changing them up in a few weeks for what I think will look better-
12.5 inch Flanders 1.25 inch apes ....they measure out with an 8 inch center width, before the bars bend up and widen... I'm going to take a chance and order a pair in a few weeks
I have the 12" Gimps and love them. They're slightly higher than stock even though the stocks are 10". And you don't have to change cables. The 14"'s you'll need to change out cables from what I hear. . On longer rides my arms tend to do the normal numb thing but it's not that bad. I'm also 5'10. If you want pics let me know and I'll shoot some over to you but a lot of other have the 12" Gimps too

How does the base match up to the trees? Do you have the Midget Gimps with the 9.5" base? And I definiteley agree with everyone, I dont want bars that are wider than the trees. I believe the stock SB bars have a 10" base.
Well I didnt measure but just eye balling I've got about 1/4-1/2" on each side of the top triple before the bars would be on the outside of the triples.
