Default Question about Nash Gimps

I'm really diggin' the looks of the 16" Nash Midget Gimps. However, they're not knurled. Won't this cause slippage? I'm interested in hearing from Gimp owners how stable these bars are and if you've had any problems with them.

Mine slipped like crazy so I ran over to the local bicycle shop and they gave me a free, trashed inner tube. I cut it and wrapped it around the bar. Now it doesnt move and it even absorbs a lot of vibration.

i didnt have those bars but i had a set of z apes that werent knurled and they would only slip if you hit a bump like railroad tracks. id try to find if a shop in your are does knurling and could do that. otherwise there have been some pretty good suggestions here.

I have a set of midget gimps that sliped when I first installed them, I just torqued them down real good and never had a problem again.

Huh, two knurling posts!

You can do some "po' man's knurling" with a light ball pein hammer and a sharp center punch. Lightly dimple the area that will be under the risers with the punch. That'll create raised metal around the dimples and will act as if it's been knurled.

emory cloth or a bicycle tire innertube are good ideas.
