Default help 2004 fxdx manual please?!

hi fellow dyna/fxdx owners

i own a '04 dyna and havent got the manual book. I'm the 3rd owner of this bike. So, if anyone out there has the manual, please, what's the recommended engine oil grade for '04 fxdx?
i've been using Hd oil sae50. I wonder whether i could go with synthetic oil such as mobil one v-twins / redline 20w60. Coz i wanna know if those synth oils can cut some of the engine heat down. Been doing research and hearing what ppl say but never from the actual manual.
also the recommended oil grade for tranny and primary. I've read so much that amsoil can fill into 3 holes.
also, whats manual say for tyre pressure front and rear tyres?

help/advice appreciated!

Just sold my FXDXI and the manual went with it. I miss that motorcycle already! I'm not sure on the fill quantities from memory. After break in I ran Mobil 1 VTwin 20-50, or 15-50 in the engine. I just used HD'd fluids in the tranny and primary.

Buy three qts. of Mobil1 20w50 oil for the engine. The manuals will tell you 2.5 qts for an oil filter and engine oil change. There is a second qty that I won't confuse you with. I put Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube, 75w140, in the transmission. The manual will tell you 20 -24 ozs., go with 22 ozs.. The primary, if the price doesn't bother you, HD syn3, I use it in mine only because the clutch has had it for 30k plus miles, that takes 26 ozs. . I am satisfied with what I'm using. Good luck.

@ridewva

thanks for the info.

@seniorsuperglideE8
thanks a lot. So as long as the sae 20w50 for engine, 75w140 in tranny my bike would just be fine right?
coz the hd oils dont say the sae on their labels. only sae50, but that just gives little info.
gonna try on the nxt service, if those oils work out, gonna have them in my dad's 07 ultra.

Hello,

I'd recommend the following for your bike which can be ordered from any Harley Dealer:
1) 99481-04 (Dyna Service Manual for 2004 - $60)
2) 99439-04A (Dyna Parts Catalog for 2004 - $48)

These two manuals are worth every penny.

I've run Syn3, Mobile1, and Amsoil in my '04 Dyna and the Amsoil is the best of the three in my opinion, runs a bit cooler.

If Amsoil wasn't available in my area I'd go with Mobile1 again. Skip the Syn3 it's junk.
