From the Easy Bracket FAQ;

Question: What if I have a detachable backrest?

Answer: Easy Brackets are designed specifically for use with many detachable backrests. See the drop down list at the products page for your particular motorcycle.

Question: If I have a backrest, then do I have to purchase an "Adapter Kit" too?

Answer: No. If you purchase the correct Easy Bracket kit then everything you need is in that kit -- no hidden "gotcha" fees.

BareBacks;

Our patented system works flawlessly with OEM saddlebags and can be used with or without docking hardware for sissy bars.

Thanks for the links guys. I have been looking for this info also.

I researched for a while and decided on "Ghost brackets". I love the way the bags look and the easy of taking them off. When I was ordering they have many fitments. They will fit with standard or detachable backrests. Hope it helped.

I went with Barebacks. I really like them, have no issues with them.
You will get 3 answers to your question. They will be Easybrackets, Ghost Brackets and Barebacks. Now the trick is to look at your existing bags. I bought a set of HD bags, called Easy and Ghost about their brackets and because I have HD bags with a molded hard back (molded around the shock) that neither were sure if their setups would work. I called barebacks and tada, no problem. So I went with them. NOt saying anything against the others, personally I think they are good, just would not work for me.
PS I have quick disconnect back set up also, works just fine.
Good luck.

I have easy brackets, had an issue with the lock on one of them. The bracket came off the bike going down the highway, destroyed the bracket and my bag.
Sent a note with pictures to LeatherneckJims where I purchased both, and got a very quick response.
Easybrackets and LeatherneckJims are replacing everything, very impressive, efficient, and friendly customer service, very happy I purchased from LeatherneckJims.
