Default Deuce rear wheel on Dyna

I realize this has been discussed before, but there have been mixed opinions in the past if it will work. I also realize Harley now sells a chrome deuce wheel that will fit, but my question is there any difference between that "new" harley chrome deuce wheel and the standard finish 2000-2007 deuce wheel? I just purchased a used wheel off ebay and having it chrome plated and now worried it won't fit. I was trying to save some money by chroming a used wheel.

I guess I should have mentioned my bike is a 2008 FXDC if that matters.

I would think it will fit. "Jackyl" got one off ebay, chromed it and installed it on his Streetbob. He also described the installation about a year ago or so, here on the forum as I recall.

Default Deuce Wheel

You'll probably have to replace the bearings with 25mm ones and you may need an internal spacer inside the hub of the wheel but it will fit.

Thanks for the replies.....I did order the install kit just waiting to get the wheel back from Excaliber Polishing in CA. I was a little worried because someone posted information that you need to machine the inside hub of the wheel or something along those lines. Paid $100 for the wheel on ebay and $275 for the chroming.

You have to buy the bearing kit, then take the wheel to a machine shop and have the center opened up to match the spacer in the bearing kit. The Deuce was a 3/4" axle. The newer dynas are 1" or 25mm. A machine shop charged me 40 bucks to do it. Its the same wheel as harley sells now, but harley already machined it for the bigger bearings on the newer dynas. Hope that helps

I have an 05 Lowrider. Will the Deuce wheel bolt right up to my bike with the existing bearings. I think I have 3/4" axles. How wide are the Deuce wheels and tires? I was thinking they came with a 180 tire. I think that may be too wide for my bike since I have a stock 150 tire.

I had one on my 06 street bob and it was great easy install. Just installed the bearing kit and my rotor and pulley and it was done. Going to put one on my 08 too. I dont think it will work on an 05 because they are not as wide in the back as the 06 and up dyna.
