I've got a question for all the 06 Wide Glide owners. If you have the detachable side plates, do you have to relocate the turn signals like you do on the earlier models? By looking at the pics of the side plates, and the change in the fender and struts, it looks like the mountion hardware will go on without having to relocate turn signals. I hate cutting and splicing wires on my new bike, and an answer will help me decide between rigid or detachable.
Thanks
No turn signal relocation required with detachable sissy bar on te 06WG
I was gonna say that's a good question...I had mine installed when I bought the bike, so I don't know the answer....I seem to remember the parts guy saying they had to move the signals..but I'm not sure. Sorry I don't know..but it certainly doesn't look like you would have to...
I don't have a WG but I do have a FXDCI and you have to move the turn signal lights if you have the detachable sissy bar. I have a brother that has a FXDLI and he installed the sissy bar rigid, but I don't knbow if he had to re-locate the lights. You do have to remove the light assembly, this has a few different parts that comes with the assembly. Hopes this will help to check with you local dealer.
