Default removing strut covers

What's the best way to remove the strut covers on my 07 Street Bob? Either will leave off or paint black. Just changed out the shocks to black 440s, was easy enough. I don't have a jack but will get one if needed. One of my concerns was the turn signal wiring. The shop manual isn't too clear on that, but looks like they connect in the taillight.

without a lift you may not be able to get the bolts out that attach the signals(many need to drop the tire down)... other than that remove strut bolts and upper shock mount and they come right off... wiring will not be exposed.

Remove the tail light lense. There you will see where the signals plug into the junction box. Unplug them and and pull the wiring through the holes in the struts and covers. The harness plugs are small enough to fit through these holes.

+1 on all of the above. I replaced a signal on the right side rear and the wiring is all in the taillight. Easy plug & play. Didn't have a lift at the time but would of been easier to hang the wires under the fender.
