Default Running no front brake?

Anyone not running a front brake? I know the front does most of the stopping but i know a few buddies that took the whole front braking system off! Little crazy but wondering!

If they ride very much, you guys won't be buddies very long.

I think you have answered your question with your own knowledge that the front brake does the majority of the braking. Why take the chance??

I seem to remember the MSF guy saying 70% of braking is off the front...I don't think I want only 30% at my disposal.

No way would I ride without a front brake. Sounds dumb to me.

I raced and rode my BMX bike without a front brake for years... never a problem... doubt I ever got over 25mph though.

Did it all the time back in the day. Front brakes were like insurance, a luxury for rich people. First thing to go on a bike was all that crap up front. It got raked, 10 over tubes, and a spool.

With traffic like it is now and the speeds we run now, no way would I even begin to consider it as a long term option.

For years my brother rode a 50-something Panhead bobber with no front brake, a foot clutch, and no linkage on the hand shifter (had to reach under your left thigh to shift). Think about it...he had to use his left foot for the clutch and right foot for the brake, so he had to knock it out of gear and coast to a stop making sure he leaned to the left so his right foot could stay on the brake. I called it the death trap, but he was so smooth about it that you would never notice anything, even with his gal on back. But I would never go without a front brake. With the way I tend to ride much of the time, it would be suicide.
