Default New risers for fxd

Does anybody have any advise, or better yet pictures,of 2" or 3" risers on their fxd with stock bars? I don't know if I want mini apes or not but was considering raising my bars just a bit. Would I need to change cables? I'm hoping the stock ones might work. Thanks in advance.

I looked for risers for some time with no luck. Very few out there for FXD's. Part of the problem is the speedometer angle would change on mine, since most (all?) risers have pull back as well as rise.

Anyway the short of it is that I am installing some stock Street Bob mini apes in the next week or two.

I put 4" pullback risers on my FXDI for a couple days. They made the bar position better, but it still sucked for me. As said, the pullbacks do screw up the speedo angle. I went to mini-apes and love them.

If you decide the risers are right for you, you can go 4" with your stock cables. You will probably need to alter the bend in your brakeline and may need to change the routing of your cables. There is plenty of stock wiring for your bar switches if you pull some of the slack out of the side of the frame neck.

I've got some 4" risers that you can have for the price of shipping.
Shoot me a pm if interested.

I bought these http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produc...afCatId=&mmyId=, the price was right at $53. The angle on the speedo did change, but I just deal with it and it isn't a problem for me. It is great to be able to sit more upright!

Thanks for the responses so far. It sucks to be on a budget and not be able to put exactly what you want on your bike. I may check into the stock street bob set up with the 1" bars so I don't have to re-route the wires internally. Definately not as clean looking but less aggravation for me!

I heard someone did it with longer screws and pair of sockets acting as spacers or some chrome hardware store pipes.
