Your gonna want to relocate the turn signals. The orange glare on the back of the windshield from the running lights at night is a killer.

I also modified my headlight bracket. I took the bar and redrilled it to lay the bar down. This dropped the headlight down one inch, and moved it forward one inch direction. It got it out in front of the windshield. I could not drive at night until I did this. The orange glare from the running lights, and the white from the headlight on the back of the windshield made it dangerous.

Oh yea! The parts book says that it comes with the turn signal relocation kit. It lies!. I had the dealer open three boxes to prove it. I had to buy them.

I have an 06 Wide Glide. I have done some highway riding lately, and of course after a while, especially this time of year, the wind has been a bit much for lengthly highway rides. As much as I am not a windshield fan (for looks), I am planning on purchasing a shield for longer rides.
I love the new quick release for the new models. My question is: which shield to buy? Harley makes a standard height and a shorter height model for the 06 wide glide. Would love to hear from those that have used either, to get an idea which one I may like better. I too, like looking just "over" the shield rather than through it. I have read here that the new ones can adjust by where you put the clamps on the trees. If someone has pics of either sheild installed on an 06 W/G, please post. Also, I am 5'10 and have already moved the turn signals to the forks. I have yet to see a new W/G with the new shields and the P&A catalog doesnt list height and width dimensions for either. Thanks for any help.
