I suppose we could nitpick back and forth as to how much difference the Heavy Breather really makes over a high flow air cleaner. In the end, I'm not sure that it's really enough to be a concern to most riders (not racers). I think it honestly boils down to a matter of taste, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I do like the look of it, though.
do you know what a cold air intake is? the heat around the engine pullied in from behind the airbox is warmer and not as ideal as pulling in cooler air from away from the engine. This will of course have nothing to do with the amount of air but the quality. Can find lots of interesting articles on intake systems all over the internet. Mostly you will find that more flow is only better if your engine can utilize it, cool air is better than hot, and air flow turbulence through the throttlebody/carb is bad. I have always found that my bike and car run better when the air is cool outside vs hot.

sure would, nice improved throttle response, couple extra hp and ft-lbs torque. I run a RSD venturi intake.

Every bike is different and some will see improvements while others wont. Same thing with big city thunder baffles making more hp/tq. Me and a bro had the same set-up including pipes & heavy breather, both of us have '07 fxdc's except I use the bct baffles and I pulled 2 more hp than he did. With the x-wing claims of increased hp/tq why not try it to find out, it comes with a 100% money back refund if your not satisfied and all you would be out is your time installing it if you do return it. After all 1 or 2 hp isn't really noticeable anyway but every bit helps. my.02
