Those Red Wing motorcycle boots, are they waterproof? I'm trying to find a decently priced pair of Harley appropriate waterproof riding boots.
You can water proof them by coating them with the redwing mink oil I done mine and my feet stay dry but then again I try my best not to be riding in the rain. I have used the mink oil on my work boots and my feet never get wet at work so that stuff works good do not us the paste kind only the liquid kind really works good
I have a pair of Carolina Logger boots that I found at a local store on sale for $50. Threw in a set of insoles and made them real comfy. They have held up well and since they are insulated, I do not get heat through them. I also find them comfortable down to about 20 degrees.
I have worn Wolverine Durashocks for years. They are the most comfortable in my opinion. I also have and wear Justin boots. They are as comfortable as the Wolverines but usually cost a bit more.
as lame as it sounds i have a pair of sketchers that have been to hell and back riding/camping/foul weather. i'm not sure if you can still fine em since it has been years but they rock! got em at kohls for 25 buck or something. prolly gonna replace them with red wings if i cannot find the sketchers again. i have never really been impressed with the hd boots, though the ladies seem to dig the boots made specifically for them.
Same here....Skecher logger boots over 10 years old and still going
I've been looking at some waterproof Bates boots, but I just don't think they offer much, if any, ankle protection in the event of a get-off. Anyone that owns them care to comment?
I thought these looked pretty nice for the price, durable looking and waterproof:
After the last 10+ years in the Army I've got about half dozen different styles of boots. All military and with a new set of insoles, all are really comfortable and hold up very well in all kinds of $hitty conditions. Best part is, didn't cost me anything. Surplus boots are cheap and can easliy be resoled.
