I've seen some pics of you guys that have the VH Big Radius (2 into 1) exhaust on your Fatbob and I love it! I just picked up a Fatbob last week and need to get an exhaust (can't believe how quiet the stock setup is!)
At any rate, i went to the dealer tonight to price Big Radius pipes. The guy at the parts shop said they are a little bit louder than stock. OK, for the amount of $$ it costs to get them, I am definately looking for more than 'a little louder'.
I am having trouble believing they are only 'a little louder'. To those of you that are running this setup, what is your take?
I had a set of VH short shot staggered on my Nightster, and they were way louder than my stock pipes are on the fat bob.
I'm in the same boat brother... I like the blacked out 2-1 one better but I heard that the sound wasn't as good. I called V&H and the guy was actually very knowledgeable. He said the 2-1 is more performance oriented and is designed for those that live in aeras with noise restrictions. Great low end rumble but nothing that will snap and pop. I had a Nightster with shortshots and loved the sound. I'm halfway tempted to but shortshots on my new fat bob.
He said that if sound was a concern, to go with the big shots. Same power (power chamber or some crap) and sound was much better.
I'm still debating... love the look but want the sound. Hope this helps at least somewhat.
This may seem odd, but I realy like the look of the stock tommmy guns, at least as far as wrapping around the front side... is there a new pipe with the sound we want that has this shape to it??? I don't mean the slip ons, I have heard that they dont have the sound...
I guess I want the staggered short shots but with the wrap and cut outs in the shields.
Seen anythiing like that out there????
Also a friend is trying to talk me into useing a extended length hole saw to cut out a 3/4 inch hole from inside the baffels like he did to his Road King, his sounds great and never had an issue.
