I hate the look of windshields on my bike too but I had to have one for longer trips so I went ahead and bought the Memphis Shades Rio Grande. Was around $175 total I believe. Yea it almost always is sitting in the garage but the times I do need it, it's good to have it there and available.
I thought I would hate the windshield on my Fatbob and got it around Christmas time and havent taken it off the bike. Now Iam spoiled. I will take it off for short rides , but agree that on long rides it takes away the fatigue and no bugs in the face.

LOL...it's spoiled me too. If I'm doing ANY highway/freeway riding @ 60 mph or more and the windshield is off the bike, I go back home and put it on.
Hell, I'm even startin' to like the looks of it more cuz it adds so much comfort to my riding.
I also really don't like the looks of a windshield on a bike. Never had one, never will. Won't even try one. Why? Probably because I'll like it so much I'll want to put one on! I just wish I didn't hate the looks of them so much.
So if you're gonna be stubborn like me and put your teeth to the wind, I can only echo the advise of having a back support of some kind. For my long trips I put on my detachable sissy bar and I reverse my sissy bar travel bag so that gives me full back support for the ride. I've ridden 10-12 hour days with this setup and while I'm sure it's not as good as having a windshield it does make the trips rather bearable.
