Default Installing Big Radius pipes

I am installing big radius pipes next week on my low rider. Those of you that have installed them, are they hard to install? Did you torque to service manual specs? Did you use any gasket sealer like permatex? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Put them on my WideGlide about a year and a half ago. Pretty easy just take your time to not scratch any chome. I did not use any gasket sealer and wouldn't recommend it. You will need new gaskets for the head. You can pry the old ones out with a small screwdriver. When you put the new ones in do it gently, they are a layered film gasket and damage easily. You will need locktight (Blue) and antisieze compound. I use blue locktight on just about all external fasteners on a Harley. Antisieze for the O2 sensors if you have them. Other than that just follow the instructions and don't get in a hurry.

I just installed them last Saturday, took my time, used lock tight on the mounting bracket i had to replace and on the exhaust flange nuts. Tightened everything to specs maybe even tighter i have a prob with over doing things. Took 4 hrs from start to finish that includes beer time and removal of stock pipes. I might have messed up though I used locktight on the O2 sensors too now i see people say to use anti seize..OOPS

Any way I love them, Seems like everyone on the boards seems to have these pipes but I hardly see any bikes around my neck of the woods with them and havent seen any in black localy.

Thanks for your help, I just want to make sure I don't mess anything up. Next will be the stock air cleaner cover mod.

I don't think loctite will hold up to the exhaust heat.

Definate on the gaskets they are cheap... do it once. Also the pipes install easy just use finesse on the head bolts....... ride it and retighten. I used locktite on the mounting bracket bolts and never sieze on the O2 Plugs. No locktite on the head bolts if you want to snugthem up occasionally as the seat in...... IMOP
