running 05 pipes on an 08

Is it possible to run 05 pipes on an 08

I'm sure it's been asked, but my searchfu is weak tonight. Is there any reason you can't run a set of 05 and earlier Bassani pro street pipes on an 08 with a PCIII and O2 eliminators? I can't think of a reason it won't work, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something? I'm also seeing a lot of good deals on pre-06 pipes.

Yes I have a thunderheader form an 02 on my 08 had to grind a little on the bracket but with the pcIII and the o2 eliminators It works just fine

I got 05 Hooker troublemakers on my 09 and a PC V. Had to trim the bracket a little but they fit and work.

Thanks guys, I found some stainless Bassani Pro Streets I can get for around $260-$280 delivered I think I'm going to grab.

One potential problem, the oil filler location is different on 05 and older bikes. The pipes may come down right where the fill tube is on the 06 and later. They don't give a good enough side shot of them to be able to tell. The only reason I brought this up is I had a Vance & Hines pro pipe for an earlier bike I could not use. Had I put it on I would not have been able to get to the dipstick to check the oil.

I'll let you guys know how it works out. I just bought a set of Bassani Pro Street stainless pipes for 91-05 NIB for $271.00 delivered. They should be here Monday or Tuesday. I'm planning on wrapping the header back to the muffler in black. The Legend Billet FWD controls should be here about the same time, so I know what next Friday night will consist of.
