Blew a piston on my 2007 Sportster about 8 months after I bought it. I obviously wasn't happy, but the dealer drove 35 miles to pick it up, fixed everything under warranty, and brought it back. Worked great ever since (though I just traded it and am picking up my 2009 FXDC in a few days!). Hope it works out well for you--
Similar story with my new Sportster a while ago. I just got home and into the driveway and the warning lights came on while running. Shut it off, called the dealership, they drove out to me with a technician--we just had to cycle the engine on and off a few times to clear whatever "junk" or charge was left in there from the factory. Weird sh--! Never had a problem with it ever again. The dealership did instantly offer to swap out VINs on the paperwork for another exact same model if I wanted, but I figured every new bike would have some bugs to work out. I would push for another bike if you aren't comfortable with the end result, especially given your investment and desire to keep it for a while, I presume.
I'd demand another bike... but get ready to do battle...they're not going to want to give you another bike because they'll have to take the hit on the depreciation. If it broke down on the way home from the Stealership...no no no. You shouldn't have to use your freakin' warranty the first day on the way home from the dealership! I bought a brand new 1986 Camaro Z-28 that overheated on the way home from the Chevy dealership as karma would have it...it was the worst car I ever owned...not that you can compare Chevys with Harleys but....get the owner of the dealership involved. It's a shame you look forward to your new bike and they have to mess it up.

I would not take the bike. Had the same thing happen to a car once. I was at the dealer 37 times during the 48 month lease. Lemon law claims are a PIA. Tell them now you want a new bike.
Update
Just got the phone for the owner of the dealership. He asked how I was doing and I told him my concerns about the bike. He told that he found out yesterday about it and that is why he calling. He say "I wouldn't this bike if it happen to him and so with that he had another brand new bike still in the box brought to his shop." "It's yours and all the aftermarket parts that you order I am taking 15% off and free install on them." Then he tells me that the pillion pad that I order he took it off the parts order list and refunding that money and bought a rallyrunner two seat at no cost to me. So I ask now what about the paperwork he said if this will make things right with me, that he will change all the papers and make whatever phone calls he has to get it done. All I have to do is sign the new papers tomorrow when I pick the bike up. I could not have asked to be treated better that this. This really makes driving 60 miles to this dealer after being treated like crap at my last dealer worth the trip plus the ride is the bonus. Thanks guys for your input and helping me pass the time. And for those who will ask no I didn't ask for any of this, only asked to be treated like they would want to be treated.
