Default 1000 mile serv - now have clutch problem

Picked up my 09 FXDC last night just as the dealer was closing and on the ride home noticed the clutch lever felt funny. It seems to grab in either direction, you can't let it out or pull in in smoothly, the lever jumps forward as your releasing it and sticks as your pulling it in. I called them back this morning and they said they couldn't get to it until tomorrow so I was just curious if anyone has seen this before. I thought about pulling the inspection cover and readjusting it myself tonight after work. Never fells, worked perfectly before dropping off.

had my 1000mi service done and on the ride home from the dealer hear a whining noise coming from the tranny in 5th gear. Creep the bike home and check the fluid and guess what NO F'n fluid - really pissed me off so do my own services now - my advice is to check the simple things first - it's probably something stupid

I would go back down to the dealer and kick some azz. Definitely chew someone's head off.

I have never let anyone at any dealer put a wrench to any of my bikes. I hear these stories all the time, and cannot imagine why anyone would let those nimrods touch your bike. The only time I ever allowed a dealer to do anything to my bike was when I was recovering from shoulder surgery. I had the dealer detail the bike for me. What could they possible do wrong with that? Well, they used a buffer and burned thru the paint on the rear fender, right down to bare metal. I knew better and kicked myself in the A$$ for making such a bad decision. Never again!

Oh I did (was back in '04) - they had asked me to prove there was no TF - u f'n believe that? Anyway, went back and got into an argument with the service manager because he still didn't believe me (like I have nothing better to do then complain about TF!!) so he got the owner of the dealer to come in and they wound up refunding my $$$ for the whole service. I also heard from a friend that the manager is no longer there because he had customer relation issues (good!). I understand someone can make a mistake but to break my ***** for something so stupid?? Like I said do my own service now...

I would try adjusting it my self to save time and effort.

It's not terribly hard.

Don't know how they would do it but it sounds like the cable is binding. Did they maybe bend it?

So they screw your bike up and then "can't get to until tomorrow"!
Sounds like great customer service to add to their mechanical skills...

Dont let it lay...bring it back, have them make it right and do not accept delivery until you are satisfied. Then find a good indy or work on it yourself. You'll never trust the work that you would have HD do in the future.
