I've wanted a Low Rider for as long as I can remember. In 2007 I was looking at the new Dodge Challengers that hadn't come out yet and was seriously considering buying one, but I'm more into bikes. I was looking online and saw a thumbnail picture of mine and liked how it looked so I called and spoke with the owner's daughter on the phone. 3 weeks later I was home on vacation and picked up my bike.

After I got out of the hospital after crashing my '91 FXRP on 10/22/05 I was stupid and let the insurance co. take it away I was jonesin' for a bike. I ran into an old buddy at the local watering hole and he turned me on to crashedtoys.com.

After about 3 weeks of waiting/searching I found my current '98 FXDS. I bid it up to $6,800 and at the time it booked out at $11,000. Minor scratches in the tank, broken mirror, broken clutch lever and a blown stator later I had it on the road just in time for good weather.

BTW, we went to pick it up 12/23/05. 2 days before X-Mas.

Had a 100hp '01 Sporty I really enjoyed playing around on; the wife at that time wasn't interested in touring...we were in St Martin where they had an FXDXT rental and after a day on it, I was hooked. Sold the Sporty and spent months looking for an '01 - '02 (timken) FXDXT in excellent shape; found one 1000 miles away and drove down with a buddy (through a blizzard) to pick it up. It was a one owner garage pampered bike...not "cheap" but in showroom condition and was the same color as the one I had rented; a sign I'm sure. Worth the search and long drive to me; was able to make a few mods and turn it into the HD of my dreams.....don't know what I'd do if I had to replace it.

lets see. I was itching for a bike last summer/fall and had the extra cash so I started shopping around. I knew I wanted a Harley no question about it. I was looking into the Rocker C and doing a engine upgrade to the 103...after crunching some numbers I decided I could get a Dyna for about the same price. Shopped around and found a SE anny Dyna for 22.2 sent the dealer a deposit. drove 1300 miles in 22 hours and brought her home

I took the safety course (my first ever riding exposure). After that went to demo rides at local Harley dealer to see what it was like to ride a real bike. Rode the low rider and a SE dyna. Walked in the dealer looked around and bought the SG - 1st bike figured I start with the base model. Love it. Best part of the story - bought two weeks before my wedding and my wife encouraged the purchase! One cool-a$$ chic!

Me and a buddy had been looking at bikes for about 4 months. I was looking into a victory 8 ball or comperable hd model. After reading reviews of both the 8ball, street bob, nightrain, (most of the reviews were off this site, with a lot of modification ideas from members on here) i decided on a street bob.

We went and took our permit tests saturday morning, went straight to hd dealer and my buddy bought a 2008 anv. Sg custom. I was gonna buy a black denim street bob, but the only one the dealer had was up for a auction and they wouldnt sell it too me... But they had a red denim that they would sell. I fell in love with the red denim and that dealer wouldnt budge on price. So i found a dealer that would not charge anything but msrp and taxes, they didnt have a red denim in stock. So they got one from another dealer (i think it was the same one at the first dealer we went to). Wouldnt trade my crimson red denim street bob for nothing else!

June of 2005, after a LONG time of tire kicking, was offered the deal of 13K out the door with a 1K store credit for the purchase of 1 of 2 supeglides on the floor. One was carb, the other EFI. Chose the EFI. The FXD wasn't my first choice, but the price sold me. Thousands of dollars later..."Susie" is right where I want her! (almost)

I've told this before so hope I dont bore you. I always knew I'd get me a Harley but thought I'd wait till after tyrning 50. Well at 48 I found out my Heart valve was not closing tight enough and leaking out. This will wear your heart out fast, making it work overtime, all the time. So I let them crack me open and while lying in bed I thought about life and things I wanted to do. I knew right then what was on the top of my list...... A new Harley!!! Now I'm back better than a new man and riding my Superglide.

Ahhh....I remember that day well.

With me working (at the time) nights 3 times a week, and my g/f working days we never had much time together so on a monday night she suggests taking a drive down to Florence to go check out an old shovelhead for sale (click link, they still have it for sale after a year+.) at the dealer. Not wanting to turn down being able to spend some time with her I said sure.

We drive down there and check the bike out. Started right up but I knew I'd be wrenchin that bike every day. Was funny what my g/f said..."you get mad respect ridin that bike." She's not really a biker chick but she does have a pretty good grasp of things.

I'll preface this with the fact that I was pretty stupid when I was younger and screwed my credit up something fierce. Been working for about 5 yrs to clean it up. I'm still working on it....

Anyway, the salesman starts showing me some used road kings. All good deals but if I was buying a new bike it wasn't gonna be a road king. He wasn't the pressuring type and just said "well let me know if you see something you like." Ok. I walked back into the showroom and started scanning. Saw this leftover 2007 WG sitting there all pretty and givin me the 'take me home' puppy dog eyes. I didn't think it was the right time so we left. Riding to grab something to eat, I didn't say a word. After 5-10 minutes, she says "let's go back."

We go back and I'm again staring at the bike. Sat on her. Felt home. stood up and walked about 8 feet away. I looked at g/f and back at the bike and back at her...she said "fill out the app...if you need me to, I'll co-sign for you. I'm so sick and tired of hearing you b!tch and complain about not having a bike, as long as you can afford it and I'm pretty sure you can."

Well, I did fill out the app. HD approved me, while raping me on interest. I dang near crapped purple twinkies when the finance dept told me I got approved. It was a great day for me, having been turned down so many times before.

Put down 10%, using the emergency credit card I have stashed in my wallet....a week later I picked her up on 1/29/08 and rode home 45 miles in 40 degree overcast january day....smiling the entire way but knowing "holy crap, I'm freezing my **** off!" Not like I could haul **** home. The bike had 93 miles on it. Not broken in yet. Dang it.

I sometimes wish I had gone for something a little bigger like a Heritage, but I don't regret in the least buying my WG. Was always the model I felt at home on when I would go to a dealer and sit on one.
