I installed my Ricor Intiminators and Progressive forks springs this afternoon in my 2006 Street Bob, and now I'm getting a clunking sound when compressing the fork springs by braking... have any of you had this pronlem?
I've got a similar clunk when braking at first start off. Once I ride it for a bit, it seems to go away. I assumed it was a neck bearing adjustment which I'll check at the 5K.
Not to hijack, but when you did your ricors, did they drop in smoothly or did you have to push them in? Mine were tiiiight in the hole. I had to beat them down like a minority. I don't know but I'm not feeling the difference. It definitely didn't do much for the brake dive. I don't want to add heavier fluid. I am still running stock springs though. Bike does feel a little better in the twisties though. I definitely need to pay attention to the rear end now..and maybe a TT in my future. Oh yeah, and get those damn cams installed...and a 103" bb to boot. Once Sniper figures out his traction issues I'm not gonna be able to touch him. Ha ha ha. It's all about keeping up with the jones'...or Sniper77 in this case. lol
Now that you front end is stiffer you might be feeling the notorious dyna clunck in the frontend, have you done the washer replacement on top of the tree? Also, almost all brake dive went away after I installed the Ricors on my 06 WG with original springs.
Did you change anything? I followed ricor setup and my brake dive has not gone anywhere.
No, I didn't change anything I put the stock springs back in used the amsoil they sent me. Didn't you say you had to push your valves in becuase it was too tight? Mine went right in, is yours the 49mm forks?
I have progressive 440's on the back and I only have about 1/2" of sag.
