I ride up in the high desert of Cal... & usually I ride with my wind screen on. Today I thought what the hell I'll put the quick remove to some use & drop the screen for a ride.
Nope never doing that ever!!! Talk about just getting beat up. I dont know about those of you who ride without one but usually Im dealing with 20-30mph winds. So I think it takes it to another level.
high speed projectiles that never bothered you before now become a wall of crap, an incessant barrage of shiyet that just pummels the living bejeezus out of ya.
Yup, I know the feeling. Few weeks back I took a ride through the Santa Cruz Hills. Seemed like every time I got the bug splatter wiped off my shades, another one hit.
I had the Stock HD Quick Disconnect shield and just changed it for a Memphis Fat Shield and it will never be off my bike! I also added the lowers and it keeps the bug and rock stings from my legs too. Here in Vegas we get the wind and heat, and I will suffer the heat to beat the wind.
I hear you! I took mine off for the first time this year and rode about 2 miles, turned her around and went back and got her. Best thing I ever bought. How did I ride all those miles when I was younger without one??
I never had a windshield. I'm considering getting one but I'm afraid I won't use it much. I've done 400 miles runs without one and it didn't bother me. I'm sure it'll be more comfortable with one, but going without one doesn't seem as bad for me as I've read on here.
