the stage 3 kit im getting includes 259E cams.... im also going to wait to do headwork later. just wondering what kind of performance im going to get out of this kit. i have the super tuner already and short shots and high flow air cleaner. the kit is in the 2010 SE book. just wondering what to expect with this setup.

The key to any build is a proper tune. Make sure you have Identified someone that is capabable of doing it. Its just not the top tq and hp number but the ride of the bike once the work has been done and hopefully you have chosen parts that compliment the way you ride.
im thinking of doing the 103" stage 3 in about a week.... tax return!!!! just wondering what fuel mileage your getting and how much of a difference you've noticed in the bike?
I have a 103 with head work and big cams. I average 43 mpg if I don't hammer on it.
I had a 103 stage 3 kit installed and just had it on the dyno yesterday after 1 2,000 mile beak in. Results were 91.29 HP and 105.61 torque.
Bike is a 2009 FXDC.
Anyone thinking of an upgrade should consider the stage 3 kit with the Super Tuner included.
What is in your build, what pipe and air breather ( stage 1 ) cam ( stage 2 ) head work, compression, ported & polished or not ( stage 3 ) differnt cams than pervious build and /or supercharger/ blower ( stage 4 ).
I may not have gotten all the details but I imagine longer stroke may be attained by drive shaft replacement and more clearance in the heads with machinieng, i don't think they were shittin' me but it is possible, and I hate to spread bullshit I'll try and get to the botom of this before I become laughing stock.
Well I'm sorry guys ,minutes later I looked on hd site for all 103 kits and all include jugs and pistons I wonder why the guy would have said that? after all I'm still relatively new to harley's and all things motor upgrade wise some A$$holes just gotta put one over on the unknowing I guess it makes him feel smart.
I just did a 95" upgrade. I installed pistons and cyls. and 211 cams. Also did the carb rejet. I would be leary of having those guys do the work if they can't tell you what is really happening. I think you would be quite happy with head work, pitons&cyls and cams. Be advised, you'll need to get a remap and possibly change ignition module and get it dynoed to realize it's potential, however, the difference in performance is substantial but longevity will remain good with that particular combination. ps you'll be impressed
