JRK, whats your opinion on using that on the triple trees as well? or you think that thoose should be powder coated cause i want to take the lowers and the triples off to powder coat but if this rustoleum appliance paint is bad A$$ then ill do them myself.
Great info guys, but I have one question, how hard is it to remove the front wheel. I just had new Typhoon black wheels installed and they had to install a "floating rotor" in order to install the typhoon wheels. Will pose a problem for me when I try to remove the front wheel? Also I bought a flat black paint that the use on airplane propellers, figured it would hold up to just about anything. It cost about $15/can, hope I didn't get hosed. Any more tips would be greatly appreciated.
One more quick question, how did you get the black rubber gaiters on your forks? Were you able to slip them over the forks once the wheel was off and what size are they
39mm or 41mm?
Will this work on cast wheels? Sand the rough part of the rim for adhesion, or sand them smooth? My Sporty's wheels are looking pretty rough! I'm thinking black with the polished rim might look OK.
This is an awesome write up!! I am trying to find different things to make my 09 Street Bob more MINE and this is a great one! Now I have 3 questions for you:
1) would this work on y heat shields and my slip ons, until I can get my VH Big Radius?
2) Do you get a lot of stuff mailed to you to get powdered? or is all ur stuff local?
3) Is removing the wheel/caliper and all that good stuff a process or is it pretty simple? I am NEWB learning on the fly here!!
