ha, This settles it.. I've been out there sanding on one leg for 2 hours now, and im not even sure I will make the paint look good... Screw it.. 80 bucks is cheap.. Im gonna take the lowers off now. I was gonna do that anyways to put in oil and progressive springs anyways. Pm coming for shipping address.
it is not just the paint you need bud... it is the prep and supplies too that people over look. for $27 more you can have them powder coated and they will last forever... just saying man i am all for do it yourself, hell this is my how to... but if i can save people the head ache from chips and worring about doing it again and offer options i try to do that as well
*also the paint does not come in a flat or satin, and it HATES to be cleared if you where thinking of knocking it down with a satin or flat clear...
Just finished this on my bike - I want to stress...light coats!
This stuff is heavy and will sag more than yer standard can spray.
(found out the hard way)
Yep I painted mine last week and should have used lighter coats. I have some drips on the right fork leg.
Supposed to be 63 tomorrow so I may try to sand it down a little again to get rid of the drips then respray those spots. If not I'll just wait until Spring when it's warmer then I can work on it easier.
Still looks a lot better right now than the scratched up clearcoat.
