anyone have the answer? whats different between this stuff and regular spray paint, if anything? Will I have the same results if I prime and spray gloss black with regular spray paint? thanks
Regular paint is thin and chips off, epoxy dries rock hard.
Once you use the epoxy you realize how it's different from regular spray paint. After the epoxy, spray paint feels like you're just spraying black water on your parts, the epoxy is like tar. Super thick and sticky/tacky ****. If you go about it right it comes out really nice, but it takes patience.
4 coats of plasti dip is thick and always flexable (never chips) another option

i just did mine recently but was impatient and got some runs so i have to sand and recoat again.. but was amazed how good it looks!! it is a high gloss finish if you do it right and follow direction in this thread it will come out great!! no need to wet sand. FOLLOW JOES DIRECTIONS be VERY patint, light coats DO THE PREP WORK and you will be very happy...im still amazed how good this stuff looks . in fact im going to use it on some other small parts cant wait to see results!
