some plastics take the heat! we do a ton of plastic intake manifolds for vett's and what not, so not so crazy. however the abs fairing does not take the heat. yes we coat in wrinkle, no problem at all

JRK5892, sure appreciate the tips on painting lower legs. I'm not a fan of anything shiny, so I went with VHT Satin Black Epoxy on my '04 FXDP lowers. Worked out fair, I think, for a home-brew job.

My scoot came to me as a nearly trashed retired cop bike in full cop trim (birch white, pursuit flashers, massive cop bags, etc.) wore down to a nub, and I've done all the mods/painting/repairs myself, mostly cause the po ole think ain't worth a whole lot. I've probably already got 2X what it's worth in parts in it. But I would like to have my bars, wheels, trees powered flat black. Can you give me any clue what that might cost, and turnaround time?

I'll back this up with the fact you can do the epoxy coat in a few hours with some sandpaper and some time. If you strip it down to just the bare lowers, then power coat is better.

Powder cote and epoxy paint both look good but to much prep, time or expense for me. If i get tired of the black in a few years i simply peel the plasti dip off

Looks like you didnt tape anything off, is that correct? The fender mount holes, axle hole, etc? Did you just spray everything?
