Did my lowers this week by following JRK5892s process to the T. My 1st time for using a rattle can for anything (other than metal targets) & maybe should have tested on somthing 1st. Its not horrible but not what I expected. I think I may have went too light with the coats or held the can too far back. Was worried about it sagging and running. IDK what do you think?
Not sure if the finish pictures will show but if you get close you can see tiny dimple effect. I went a littler heavier on the end cap and its almost completely smooth. Figured you wouldnt see runs on it & I was trying to determine how to spray on it as I was hitting the lowers in the same session.
Think its worth trying to sand out and clear or re-hit with epoxy?

Absolutely dont try and sand them down unless its been over 7 days, and no clear coat either. To be honest with ya, when it comes to working on these 49mm forks I would just tear em down and send em in for powder coat. It takes about 20 mins to disassemble those fork legs, and while you are at it the preload can be setup for your weight, and upgrade the fork oil as well.
Joe will build em for you if you sent the legs to him. Epoxy paint works great, but it takes forever to dry.
Yours look fine in the pics, if you want better you will have to get em powder coated.
Mine have been done for almost a year and have held up great. I dono when/how but I scuffed up my left fork and have to touch up, I need to learn how to do this...
