Hey nice purchase on the bike, I also owned a couple rice burners, then decided to run with the big boys. Just bought a SuperGlide a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love it! Like you said, the customizing starts! So far I haven't bought anything, trying to figure out the best deal. This website has loads of info though.
Congrats on the new ride. Having had my FXD for less than a year, I can vouch for how quickly the add ons can add up. One recommendation is to have a clear idea of what you want the bike to look like. Take some rides first, visit other dealers and get an idea of what other owners have on their cycles and don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions. Cheaper to ask first than to kick yourself for spending $$$$$$ only to find out it's not really what you want.
I'd also recommend seeing what you can do yourself, chrome switch covers, exhaust and other things aren't really that difficult and will give you a great feeling of having done the work yourself, even if you're not that mechanically inclined. Local dealers here in southern NY are anywhere from $60.00-$80.00/hr. and it doesn't take long for the outlay to add up.
One final recommendation, try to avoid buying anything at first for the "bling" factor. Some people get carried away on having their ride look all shiny and miss the reason we all bought a bike in the first place, that's to ride it.
Like Fuente said, we've all done a lot of modifications on relatively late model cycles, so don't be afraid to post your questions here and see what others have done.
