I thought about somehow bending the bottom of the shield out a little because I notice all my buffeting is coming up my shins. When I ride I put my arm across my knees and it all went away even wind noise. I thought about using a torch and bending, but I'm afraid of ruining it. So I may just get longer bolts and washers at the lower bolt on the support brackets. I noticed with the shield it diverts a lot of wind to the shins and there is no way I'm putting lowers on there.

The holes needed to be widened with a 1/4 drill bit but once that was done, the concept was exactly the same. I'll post pics soon but here is a link to the mending plate:

Like it shows, it's just a piece of flat steel that is about 2 inches long with a hole at each end. Use this in place of the S-hook above. This actually increases the angle even more than the S-hook did.

I'm line buying these now. They didn't have 5/8 so got 1/2. Should be ok. I'll let ya know how it goes!

Excellent. My only regret is they dont make those in stainless steel or chrome darnit. In your case you could just sand them with 800 grit and then paint and bake with the BBQ black paint.
