Just got off the phone with a local stealer. I've been eyein' a '06 Fire Red Pearl. The legalized crook, oops I mean salesman, quoted me a price of $16180.00 + tax with security system. MSRP $15905 + $275 for SS.Not too bad, 'ey? The only thing is he said they've been using it for a demo, it's got 150 miles on it. Deal or no deal? Timmer
The 16180 includes the 275 for freight. It would be a good price except for the demo part. I bought mine for 500 under msrp and with 5 miles. The ones I put on it when I test drove it. Still It is not that bad some dealers charge way over msrp. Cause as they say they know they can sell them.
K, know what ya mean. I already thought of it when he told me. Break in procedure still is nothing over 55 mph for the 1st 500 miles, correct? I suppose I could use that for a price reduction but then again he might just tell me to "have a nice day" Timmer
Liberty HD in Akron has a sale in January at those prices for 3 hours on a single Sunday. But shop around. My salesman at Liberty was Slim....really good no pressure type salesman. But you are looking at prime selling season right now so they are less apt to discount. BUt, I'd give it a shot.
no way would i give em full retail price on a demo.big deal so there throwing the 275 security system in mighty big of em.thed have to knock at least 500 off that price they want for it.market is loaded only 300k plus bikes being manufactured this yr.
I was told break in was under 3000 rpm for the first 100 miles and under 3500 rpm until 500 miles.
I believe there are procedures for breaking in a motor very quickly, might ask if they did anything special.
The bike I test rode had 140 miles on it, next day it was on the floor. Maybe they try to limit it to 150 miles.
I didn't run the crap out of it but I'm sure I got it up to 4000 rpm. You have to be willing to walk out if they won't
give you a deal. I would go for $500 off plus the alarm. Also that alarm actually doesn't have an alarm, it
flashes the lights, might want to bargain for the siren option as well. My dealer can't keep low riders in stock.
Might want to call around and see if another dealer has an option for you. BTW low riders are the bomb!
