What would be the difference if a rider with an '06 installed a 'rear sprocket' and a new belt from an '07 or newer compared to installing a 30 tooth tranny pulley ? I feel Harley screwed me for the second time, first they came out with a '96 motor and now I find out they changed the gearing. lol

So for a rider with an '06 what would be the way to go, tranny pulley or rear sprocket and new belt ?

Mike, your 06 is geared at the rear better than the 07.

you would want to go to the 30 tooth trans sprocket.

Changing the front sprocket/pulley would be much easier if a new belt is required, since to change the belt you would have to open the primary just as much as if you were changing the front pulley.
From everything I have read to get the same result as a 2 tooth change up front you would need 4-6 tooth change in the rear, which would require a new belt.
A rear 2 tooth change would only give you about a 3-4% change, where a 2 tooth front gives you about 10% change.

Depends on the year of your bike. If you search the threads then you'll find where the source for the socket has been posted a few times. On that website they tell you what size socket you need for your year of bike.

Ah... 2.25"... My mistake. I'm sure I posted the right size at some time in the past when I'd first finished the mod but my memory sucks. But it does depend on the year of your bike. The older bikes have smaller nuts. heh heh Yeah, I said it.

Looks like the deal.

Anyone using one of these speedotuners on an 06 Dyna w/30t sprocket?
