A buddy recently gave me a set of saddlebags, and for them to fit on my FXD I'll need to relocate the rear turn signals. I don't really like HD's, nor Saddlemen's, nor any others that I can recall seeing.
I'd prefer to keep the same turn sigs, but not set on it.
I just relocated my turn signals with the HD layback plate. I must say that it was a little testing dealing with all the wire and the stock turnsignal bolts. Hint you will need to let some air out of the back tire to remove them easy. I am satisfied with the look, but for the trouble I wish I had looked around a little more.
I am not crazy about any of them but probally the best looking is when they use the touring bracket under the taillight. It takes some work to get it to fit a Dyna but probally the best option.
I bought the HD relocation kit and chased around the wires and fumbled with the bracket for a lot longer than I had planned. In the end I gave up and just used hand signals for a few months.
I recently bought the Kuryakyn Panacea Taillight. No turn signals needed and the taillight installed in less than 15 minutes. Works great and the directional indicator is bright enough to catch any cagers attention.
Rather than a relocation, I just got lower profile signals, though I have not installed them yet. But they are small and the bag fits on top of them, since I will not be using it much.
