I just put Screaming Eagle slip-ons on my 07 Fat Boy tonight. You need a 3/8" for the bolts that hold the mufflers to the frame and 9/16th for the clamps. Took me 45 minutes including the 15 minutes for the bud-lite. Sounds great!

I didn't realize it, but does you friend own NO tools? even basic cheap tools? From the mindset of if it can go wrong, it will, you'd be better off driving a car/truck with a set of tools to make sure his bike just isn't a lil different.

Or holler at your buddy and tell his cheap *** to go buy a $100 craftsman 200 piece tool set, cause eventually he'll need it to tighten up all the **** that'll vibrate loose. You gonna drive down to tighten his bolts too? See where I'm going here?

Kind of like give a man a fish, eats for a night, teach him to fish, he eats for life. For his own good, he can't be that inept and expect to safley maintain a motorcycle.

Which is why I laugh at all the rubs getting towed in fpr basic hand tool jobs that are out of their league.

Don't let that be your buddy.

I am asking what size wrench or socket I need to bring down on my bike from MA to unbolt the stock mufflers from the head pipes and the mounting bracket?

Thanks

Since I see conflicting info from 'cliffhusn' - for a Fatbob it's 1/2" for the two mounting bolts, and 9/16" (deep well) for the Torca clams. You'de be well advised to bring a 2" or 4" extension too, just to make life a little easier.

Have fun with your bro, maybe when he sees how easy it can be he'll invest in his own tools!

I am putting slip-ons on my fxdc, I was told not to waste the money for t-clamps since mine has only 500 miles on them. Check them out first.
