Well I just finished the install of the Big City Thunder into the 07 SE slip-ons. Instantly noticed the performance change for the better, anyway the whole process took about 2.5 hrs and well worth the $170.00 invested.(the sound is the same at the old school SE-11)
Anyway if anyone is thinking of doing this mod. and would like some incite to the application my e-mail address in bcpdr@yahoo.com
thanks

2.5 Hours? did you stop to drink a six pack or take a nap. It only took me about 20 minutes. 2 bolts in each muffler, slip the baffle out, and re-install the bolts. I agreee, the BCTs sound great and are well worth the $.

Clearly, you've never removed the baffles from the street legal Screamin' Eagle mufflers. They are press-fit in and you practically have to destroy them to get 'em out. They are a bitch. I'm surprised it only took him 2.5 hours.

missed that he was working on the street legal SEs. so how do you get the baffle out?
I have the older SEII's (not the new ones) and I'm having them and the heat shields thermal coated black. Can I assume from the discussion here, that if I decide to mod the baffle in the SEII's (drill a few extra holes and remove some of the packing for some "extra" sound) that it will be relatively simple to get the baffles out of these mufflers as opposed to the press fit ones?

Sonny, the SEII baffles are just riveted in. In fact, the reason I went with BCT baffles in mine is because one of my baffles fell out! They'll be easy to remove if you have the mufflers off anyway.
I've had my Big City Thunder baffles for about a year and I'm still pleased with the sound. They're a little on the loud side for me, but definitely not the loudest I've heard. But the tone is perfect in my opinion.

You would think it would be as simple as on the older SE mufflers: Remove the screws securing the baffles and then just knock them out. But because these are press-fit in, they are so tight in the can it's almost impossible. You can still knock them out, it just takes forever because the diverter tang is complete closed so there is nothing but smooth "ramp" for the piece of pipe, or whatever you are using to knock them out, to get a purchase on. I finally wound up using an extra long screwdriver to open the tang a little so the pipe would have something to snag on. Even with the muffler mounted on a work bench the first big slam on the pipe with a mallet didn't even budge the baffle. It took well over an hour to knock the sum bitch out and by then I just said to hell with it and wound up modifying the stock Street Bob mufflers. Removing the baffle on those was a piece of cake by comparison--even though I had to drill the rivets holding those in.
What was the part number you used? When I had called about the SE slipons on my fat bob, they had told me I probably need SE-SF but they couldnt be sure and that there were no returns. I dont feel like slamming out my baffles just to measure them and find they dont fit.
